Impact FAQ
Why has Pisgah developed IMPACT?
Because children have been blessed with various gifts and challenges, students at Pisgah achieve at various levels of performance. For some, good grades may come easily, but they need to be challenged in new ways in order to get them to the next level. Others may perform adequately but find their passions outside of the classroom. Finally, some students may find it difficult to manage aspects of our college preparatory program. We recognize that all of these students are members of the Pisgah family and all deserve the chance to fully explore their God-given talents.
How will I use the services?
Participation will be based on the type of service that you use. Some offerings such as IQuest, Pacekeepers and My Style are year-long programs that require additional admissions procedures, while others (e.g., academic coaching, SAT prep, tutoring, seminar courses) are “a la carte” and may be used at the time of need. If your child is experiencing academic difficulties, we want you to work with the classroom teachers and guidance counselors before calling us. Many interventions can be employed prior to the need for our services. Of course if you have questions about our services, please call anytime. If you are looking to take advantage of some of the colloquia (e.g., SAT Prep, various seminars, tutoring) please call the IMPACT office directly at 678-336-3364.
Will this change how I receive guidance services now?
The guidance services previously in place have not changed. Division guidance counselors are still here and always available to help. IMPACT provides new additional services that enhance our guidance offerings. IMPACT encourages you to contact and utilize the division guidance program before calling IMPACT.
How will this impact my son or daughter?
IMPACT will provide your son or daughter opportunities to engage in educational programming that can enhance his or her learning experience and performance. We have already seen that IMPACT programs are enhancing the educational experience of all Pisgah students as teachers employ new techniques learned through the IMPACT programs.
Whom do I contact if I have questions?
